Some apps require extra permissions—permissions that may not be granted under the device’s Compliance Policy. When attempting to launch the app, device users will see a message like “Permission Needed” or “Action Not Allowed.”


There’s a simple solution: Create and apply a compliance policy that allows it.

  1. In the Esper Console, click Compliance Policy in the navigation sidebar
  2. Click New Policy
  3. Enter a unique name for your new policy in the Policy Name field
  4. Enter a description for your new policy in the Description field
  5. Select “Ask User” from the Default App Permissions dropdown.
  6. Click Create Policy

Once you apply the compliance policy on the device/group, you should be able to make the required permission changes from the Settings on the device.
